
Cars have been using smart keys since 2002. That is basically the time when Nissan first released these gadgets. Smart car keys has the capability to send signals to your car so it technically, it would know that you’re approaching. As a response, it unlocks itself the moment you touch the car door handle. Some smart keys can also start your car. So you just have to step on the pedal and speed away.
Now here’s the good news – Nissan, Sharp, and NTT Docomo had joined forces to create the first ever Smart Car Key integrated into your mobile phone. Sooner or later, you pockets would carry no more than a cellphone to do everything else in life. A few cash inside wouldn’t hurt though.
Nissan will be the worthy recipient of this new technology, while Sharp will be the one to make the cellphone. NTT Docomo, a telecomunication company of Japan, is the company tasked to create the software that would fully integrate the keys of your car with a very reliable cellphone.
The even better news is that this cool new device is now ready for demostration at Ceatec Japan. Scheduled early next week, car enthusiasts and gadget freaks are invited to check out what this smart tool can offer. Soon enough, the mobile phone cum smart car key would invade a majority of the latest Nissan cars. As such, you will never ever forget your car keys anymore – unless of course, you lose your cellphone.
This cool new addition to the gadget world is an indication that techonology does get better. Now, you have bigger space in your pocket as everything else has converged into your mobile phone. PDA, music player, game console, organizer, internet browser, and now, car keys – what else could man ever demand in a cellphone?
