Make Way for the New Adobe PhotoShop CS4

By | Sep 23, 2008

Adobe PhotoShop is continuing to evolve. WIth the release of the PhotoShop CS4, users are provided with more capability and faster image processing. With a fresh new interface and added functionality, a lot of existing users would surely consider an upgrade seriously.

Available in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions, this new software would work on older Windows and Vista. A signifcant update of the CS4 is higher RAM consumption for lower hard disk swapping. The result? A tremendous improvement in speed and editing capability.

Now, it is very possible to work with much bigger images the size of more than 2,000 megapixels. This new installment from Adobe is very ideal for photographers and professional graphic artists who works on large-scale base images of 40 megapixels or more. Simply explained, the new Adobe would work primarily on your RAM rather than off your hard disk. And so, you are better off buying more memory for your computer rather than investing on complex RAID arrays.

Resizing images in this new software is a lot better too. Like the older Photoshops, the images on the foreground can be made smaller or bigger, according to your needs. But not like them, this one can do the job with more precision. The proportionality of the resized image to the original one is way better. Even the background is handled as good as the foreground, with less squashed effect and a little more detail.

The adjustment pallete is also new. It now holds most of the frequently-used photo enhancement tools that you always want handy. And with the new layer system of the software, your base image is more protected. You can try more layers over it to see the effect. It is easy to turn on and off new layers. And if you don’t like what you see, just trash the layer. And you original image won’t be affected.

In conclusion, the CS4 is much better, faster, and more reliable. So if you’re ready for the change, go ahead and do so.
