redflymobileviewer REDFLY Mobile Viewer Lets You See Your Phone Screen On A Full Size PCWith phones becoming more and more like real computers with decent apps on board, you’ll probably be using your mobile handset’s software tools with increasing frequency as well. Celio Corp.’s REDFLY Mobile Viewer, a PC program that allows you to view your phone’s screen on a full-size display, should make using your phone’s onboard suite of software more convenient.

Great idea, right? I personally use strictly iPhone-based apps as my standard productivity tools and I would love to have access to that on the same screen when I am at work, instead of having to fiddle with the gadget in my hand. But wait….Celio’s new software only works with Windows Mobile phones – sucks!

The Mobile Viewer is currently available on public beta, so folks who work on Windows Mobile smartphones can just download it and give it a go. A full list of supported handsets are available from Celio’s website.

Instead of just zooming in on your limited mobile phone screen, though, the software actually enlarges the space your mobile apps can run on (up to 1024 x 768 resolution). On Excel Mobile, for instance, users can see up to 50 cells on-screen at a time, instead of the 8 cells that most mobile LCDs can display. Since you can use all functionalities of your phone right on the PC, you can send SMS, edit your address book and do a whole lot of stuff more conveniently using your mouse and keyboard, along with the larger display.

Not sure what price tag  Celio will put on this when the final version of the REDFLY Mobile Viewer rolls out, but the beta available for download is a 60-day trial.   I saw the demo and it honestly looks pretty good.
